Better late than never, I suppose...I told you I was on Spring Break! Also, unforeseen complications arose with the very short video I made to accompany this week's couple(omg who writes sentences like that I'm so sorry), so now we just get cutesy pictures (that's better).
Anyway, in celebration of the Veronica Mars movie which opens this Friday (!), my couple of the week is Logan and Veronica. Or LoVe. What an amazing pairing these two are! Fun fact: when the show started, Rob Thomas (the creator) had no intention of putting these two together...it was a later development (around episode 6 is when he decided, I think) and Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring were shocked because their characters hated each other so much. But of course, Thomas was right and one of the GREATEST TV COUPLES EVER WAS FORMED (am I overselling?). Jason also recently revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed that he kinda fell for Kristen while they were shooting the show. Is that not the most adorable thing you've ever heard?
You want to hear more about them now? Logan is the son of a famous actor...I guess he could be equated to Robert Downey, Jr. or something, except I'd like to think RDJ is more likable than the monster that is Aaron Echolls. Logan's a douchebag, but it turns out he's very emotionally damaged, and becomes very likable as the show progresses. He and Veronica bond over the death of Lily Kane (his ex-girlfriend and her best friend) and some other way-too-spoilery-event; they eventually see the good in each other and fall in love. What makes them more romantic, I suppose, are the crazy situations that are constantly surrounding them. The odds are not in this relationship's favor but we all rooted for them anyway. Their love was epic, you know?
The movie picks up nine years after they were last in contact with each other. They've both grown up
and moved on, but when Logan is wrongfully charged for the murder of his popstar girlfriend, Veronica starts back with the sleuthing to help him out. And--I'm hoping--their relationship is rekindled.
