Brooklyn Nine-Nine 1x20 "Fancy Brugdom"

Brugdom is Danish for groom. Now that we've gotten that out of the way let's talk about the three different stories that occurred on Brooklyn Nine-Nine last night.

I react like this when people step on my almonds, too.
I'll start with the one that I identified with the most: the diet. Sergeant Jeffers, Gina, and Amy started a nutrisystem-esque diet with extremely small portions that was slowly sending them all into hypoglycemic rage. Gina and Amy both gave up in hilarious ways, but Jeffers stuck to it because he wanted to support his wife, who is also on the diet. How sweet! Did anyone else wonder if Terry Crews really picked up that car? Is that stupid of me? He just seems like he's strong enough to do it. The good thing is none of them really need to diet so I guess it's okay if they slip up and quit. Also, if I were to freak out on anyone in a hypoglycemic rage, Hitchcock would be my first choice too!

Now for the brugdom and forlover (Charles and Jake, respectively). Charles asked Jake to be his best man, meaning that Jake had to assist in the planning of the second worst wedding ever (after the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones). We also found out that Boyle is planning to retire from the force to move to Ottowa with Vivian even though he doesn't want to. Jake tries to be a good forlover and friend and convince Boyle to talk to Vivian about staying in New York. I thought this might lead to a breakup...I really can't imagine Boyle actually marrying Vivian, but for now the wedding still appears
Liberace? Diane Keaton?
to be on. Who else actually shrieked when they saw Boyle's thong through his linen suit? ick!

Why do cops have to be such goose-bodied idiots? I think this is what Rosa thinks about everyday. Especially since a cop in the precinct mislabeled a weapon and messed up her crime scene. She insulted him in front of all of his cop buddies, so he filed a complaint with the Captain until she apologized. Too bad that's close to impossible for her; instead of apologizing, she drew a mean picture of him on the elevator and made fun of him to everyone she knows. Holt convinced her that a good leader helps people learn from their mistakes instead of judging them for it, so we end the episode with some personal growth in Rosa.

B99 still appears to be on a streak of great episodes, but the finale draws near. What will I do over the summer if I can't check in with Jake and the gang every week? I guess I'll just watch Hot Rod a million times.
