Reign 1x10 "Sacrifice"

Now onto a show that seems to be in it’s prime. The fact that the writers chose to elongate Mary and Francis’ inevitable marriage by attempting to legitimize Bash (the King’s bastard son) was brilliant. Also, Mary and Bash have a great chemistry and Torrance Coombs has dreamy blue/ green eyes that I could stare into for hours. I don’t know how long this storyline will last, but I’m going to enjoy it as long as it does. I honestly thought I would miss Francis’ presence more tonight, but so much was going on in this episode that I barely noticed he was gone.

Mary is such an admirable character—she truly cares for everyone she creates connections with, including Isobel, Bash’s Pagan cousin. No wonder she is so widely loved—she has such a pure heart. As does Bash, it seems; he is very loyal and kind. He is not the character I predicted he would be when I watched the Pilot.

Now, the triangle. Sometimes I forget how young Mary is. She has only ever had eyes for Francis—they’ve been engaged since they were six, so she has never even thought to care for anybody else. Now, she has the opportunity to open her heart to another man and she seems to be falling for him quickly (but how could you not fall for a guy when he gives you a speech like he did at the end of the episode?!). Is she letting herself fall for Bash because she believes it will never work with her and Francis? Or has she always had feelings for Bash and hasn’t been able to act on them until now?
I’m hoping we find out soon!

Now, how awesome is Queen Catherine? I mean, I hate her but in that wow, what a great villain she is so devious and awesome sort of way. Only she would turn a prison cell into the coolest hotel room I've ever seen. But Mary and her suddenly not a waste of space ladies-in-waiting seemed to have overpowered her for the moment. We'll see how she retaliates next week.
Overall, a great episode. I can't wait to see what happens next!

PS: Frary shippers, y’all win in the end, obviously, just let Mash fans enjoy some of this fluff.
PPS: Don’t boycott the show just because Francis is missing. Like 5 people watch this show, please support it. If it gets cancelled you’ll never get to see Francis again.
