Who else caught Terry Crews in the Muppets/ Toyota Highlander commercial last night? He is capable of the perfect combination of silly/ funny. I'm not into the Muppets, but he is great.
Let me start by saying that their football game against the FDNY was more entertaining than the actual Super Bowl last night. I'm being totally serious--the Super Bowl was really terrible.
Who else likes that Holt showed some actually emotion last night? I mean, I don't want him to turn into Peralta or anything but him and Jeffers make a great (and funny) team. Trying to secretly rearrange the office to enhance productivity? Amazing. Boyle's fringe jacket (that caught on fire)? Even better. These office shenanigans never get old. Except....is it humanly possible to be as stupid as Hitchcock and Scully are? They can be a little too much sometimes.
Amy took an interview with Major Crimes, you know, where the notorious "Vulture" works, and Jake was not happy about it. He spends the whole episode trying to convince Amy that she belongs in the field. But as usual, their case took a silly and unexpected turn when Jake emceed a Greek Antiquities auction that Adam Sandler randomly attended; he then proceeded to break former NFL star Joe Theismann's leg while catching their perp. Sounds fun to me. And to Amy too I guess, because she turned down the job at Major Crimes, but not before Jake admitted that he likes having her as a partner. I like how slowly the writers are setting up these two. We know they'll happen eventually, but it's always better when a couple starts as friends.
Overall, a great episode. I'll be interested to see how it does in it's new time slot (9:30-after New Girl instead of before). That time lot may be cursed...I'll keep you posted.
